Finish Week 7 work on computer transfer, text/art documents,
adding audio files to still pictures, zooming and trimming, and viewing
images on TV screen.
Virtual Art Gallery -- "Sketches"
Generate some rough ideas for the Virtual Art Gallery as follows:
1. Generate the gallery itself -- a genuine picture or scanned
image which itself includes framed artwork or other obvious framed locations
2. Replace some of the framed elements in the gallery with photographs
or scanned images of sample artwork. Try to include different media
of artwork (paintings and sketches, sculptures and other 3d works, etc)
to begin exploring techniques for digitizing the same.
Do these steps for at least two competing gallery types.

for example).
2. Create HTML pages which contain the JPEG's and allow the user to
click through each JPEG to reach the next pane in the story.
3. Create a web site (at Geocities.com or any similar free web site
host) and publish this story on your web site.

FIRST SEMESTER |

| Week 16 |
Wed 20-Dec |
Term Project
Due: Fri Jan-5
Illustrated Short-Story
1. Obtain a short story somehow (you may write one if you wish, but
it must be of very high quality) with written permission from the author
to publish it on the web.
2. Render the short story in graphical panes. Each pane should
equate to a page if this were a storybook. It should contain rich
graphics which complement, in a sophisticated manner, the story on that
page. The story itself should be in clearly-readable text as part
of the graphic. For a passing mark, you must have at least 7 high-quality
panes, though more work will certainly earn more points towards your final
grade. Finally, the graphics in your panes should, as much as practicable
(without violating the aesthetics) demonstrate mastery of the material
you have covered so far in class.
3. Create a web site (at Geocities.com or any similar free web site
host) and publish this story on your web site.
